The Why
Duality Fragrance was created from a simple belief: identity is not singular.
We live in tension. Between discipline and instinct, softness and edge, control and surrender. Fragrance is one of the few mediums capable of holding that complexity without explanation.
Duality does not resolve opposites. It lets them coexist.
The What
Every Duality creation is a study in opposites - two distinct fragrances, each complete on its own, each transformed when layered together. A living composition. Completely intimate. Wholly your own.
We work only in essential oils, natural isolates, and organic sugarcane alcohol - no synthetics, ever - and rest every blend for 30 days until it reaches full depth. Each release is an eau de parfum, high concentration, no fillers, build to evolve with your chemistry for hours, not minutes.
Light. And dark.
At its core, Duality invites you to inhabit your full spectrum - to claim the shadows as confidently as the light. Every blend is designed to move, to surprise, to reveal different facts as the hours pass. Not a scent as a mask. Scent as a mirror.
Duality doesn’t tell you who to become.
It amplifies what’s already there.
The Who
I made my first perfume at five years old. It was flowers soaked in water, left to rest in a cup overnight. I presented this gift to my grandma, who delighted in the fact I had made it for her.
I didn’t make another perfume until I was in my 30s.
But I did make things. In my 20s I focused on making premium spirits. My favorite to make was gin. I discovered this love as the youngest female Master Distiller in the US, where I built a distillery from the ground up. I made gins that shared stories, used local ingredients and novel distillation methods, and were to be enjoyed sipped or in a cocktail.
Mastery isn’t having all the knowledge, it’s knowing where to look. So I looked and researched and wrote, and thanks to a peer, I stumbled upon perfume recipe, as a tool for spirits production.
And it reminded me of that five year old girl and her curiosity. I became obsorbed with the similaries and differences between spirits and perfumes. Before long, I wondered about starting my own perfumery.
And here we are
I wanted to start Duality because I didn’t see a perfume or perfumery that was telling stories I wanted to here. Perfume can be so aspirational that it forgets its own audience. I wanted to create something that would meet people where they are, highlighting our differences that make us unique.
